MY STORY

JenTuel_headshot.jpg

I'm a Creative Director who specializes in Art Direction. Since beginning my career back in 2005 I've had the pleasure of working on so many different aspects of the Advertising/Marketing business. I have created simple stories in the digital space, and larger stories on TV, but the most impactful stories have been a part of a larger campaign complete with multiple mediums. I have been fortunate enough to work on some amazing brands over the years, including 9 different Fortune 500 companies. That said, the brands I got to know best include Secret Deodorant, Mountain Dew, Jack Daniels, Burt's Bees, Publix, and Shoe Carnival. I also sniffed around with a few four-legged furballs when I was the Creative Director for Pet Paradise (a nationwide pet resort offering day camp, boarding, grooming, and veterinary care). There I told many pet-related stories in the social space while also being the literal "voice of the brand" for all seven of their brand story videos. I led creative through the launch of a new mobile app, their 20th-anniversary campaign as well as the creation and launch their sister brand: NewDay Veterinary Care.

But my most recent work was even much more fulfilling. While I was the Creative Director at The Tebow Group, our #1 client was the Tim Tebow Foundation. Their mission is to bring Faith, Hope and Love to those needing a brighter day in their darkest hour of need. We told moving stories that motivate people worldwide to give. Their second largest partner, Nehemiah Manufacturing (best known for their Tide to Go Pen and Downy Wrinkle Releaser) is a second-chance employer giving hope to those who need it most.

One of my favorite parts of the business is inspiring others. Whether I’m creating something special or connecting with someone personally, my goal is to make someone think, solve or smile. In my free time, I love spending time at the beach with my family. I also love live music, camping, and traveling to new places.

MY JOBS

The Tebow Group

Jun 2023 - Dec 2024

Jacksonville, FL

I was blessed to be the Creative Director at The Tebow Group. I led and managed a team of creatives who told very impactful stories. We created work for the Tim Tebow Foundation, that often tugs on people's heartstrings and motivates them to give. Those donations bring Faith, Hope and Love to those needing a brighter day in their darkest hour of need. When not working with TTF, we worked alongside other partners and told their unique stories (Nehemiah Manufacturing, Price.com, etc...). I also had the privilege of helping to build Tim and Demi Tebow's personal brands. When Tim Tebow went before Congress to prioritize the fight against human trafficking and exploitation, we were there on the sidelines pumping out creative. And when Demi Tebow wrote her first book, we created every piece to support the launch. It was a tear-filled, heart-warmed, wild ride and I cherish every minute.

Pet Paradise

Sep 2019 - Oct 2022

Jacksonville, FL

During my time as a Creative Director at Pet Paradise, I helped solidify the brand by developing its first brand book, which guided the team through every touchpoint. We also started telling brand stories in the social space, anchored by brand story videos, which were concepted and produced in-house. These integrated brand campaigns breathed new life into the rapidly growing pet care company. I led a very small team through many simultaneous launches including a new mobile app, a 20th-anniversary campaign, and an entirely new brand: NewDay Veterinary Care. I am very proud of all the work that the team accomplished while I was a Creative Director there. Pets make people smile and working with them was a true joy.

22squared

Mar 2014 - Nov 2018
Tampa, FL

As a VP, Creative Director at 22squared I focused on storytelling in social, digital and broadcast. I lead creative efforts for Shoe Carnival, OGX and Publix while developing the Tampa creative department. The work is my north star and leading teams is my passion. Working with creatives to foster confidence and help make their work better is what I do best.

MEplusYOU
(formally imc2)

Aug 2010 - Nov 2013

Dallas, TX

While I was a Creative Director at MEplusYOU I managed multiple teams of writers, art directors and designers. We focused on purpose-driven work routed in The Relationship Era. As their mentor, I lead my teams to create ideas that have never been done before. Creating authentic sustainable connections between brands and consumers.

Brands I worked on: Secret Deodorant, P&G Beauty, Burt's Bees, RadioShack, Verizon FiOS, and the MEplusYOU rebrand

Tribal DDB

Nov 2007 - Aug 2010
Dallas, TX

As a Sr. Interactive Art Director at Tribal, most of the work I created was for Mountain Dew. I brought Dew's Green Label Art to life with coveted gear that fans could win. I took things back to the old school with a unique promotion sponsored by both Amp and Dew called Old School New School. On this microsite, fans could play games that mixed old and new styles, fashion, music and culture. When I wasn't designing digital experiences for Dew, I was also dabbling creatively in the digital space for the rest of Pepsi's soda brands.

Brands I worked on: Amp, Aquafina, Baja Blast, Bud Light, Diet Mountain Dew, Dyson, Hidden Valley, Juicy Fruit, Mountain Dew, Pepsi, and Voltage

Slingshot

Apr 2005 - Nov 2007
Dallas, TX

Slingshot is where I started my career as an Art Director back in 2005. Even though Slingshot is a full-service agency, I spent most of my time learning the ins and outs of interactive for brands such as Jack Daniels, Greyhound, STA Travel, and Dr Pepper. I quickly became an expert on beverages, due to both Brown Forman's and Cadbury Schweppes’ long line of brand extensions. I even tried some co-branding…ever had a Dr Jack?

Brands I worked on: ConocoPhillips, Dave & Busters, Dr Pepper, Diet Dr Pepper, Diet Rite, Hawaiian Punch, Gentleman Jack, Greyhound, Jack Daniels, La Madeline, 7-Up, STA Travel and Sunkist

MY SCHOOLS

University of Florida

B.S. in Advertising

1998 - 2002
Gainesville, FL

I grew up in Jacksonville, FL so attending UF was my #1 goal. I had been a Gator fan all of my life, so I was super excited to start my collegiate journey here. I decided to major in advertising because it was a great profession to earn money while being creative. While taking classes I also worked in ad sales for the Independent Florida Alligator (our student newspaper). I was also an active member of the University of Florida Ad Society. And after visiting many advertising agencies with the Ad Society, I knew that advertising was for me. That's when I decided to further my education and perfect my skills in art direction at the Miami Ad School.

Miami Ad School

Art Direction

2002 - 2004

Miami Beach, FL

I started ad school in Miami Beach where I learned the fundamentals of art direction. I studied here under many advertising greats both new and old. Next, thanks to the MAS Quarter Away program, I had the opportunity to study in Amsterdam, London and Prague.

Amsterdam (October 2003 to December 2003)
Here I studied under advertising legend Clare McNally who taught me how to identify and create a "great ad." I also became a better photographer through inspiration found on the streets.

London (January 2004 to March 2004)
I studied under teams from BBH, TBWA, Saatchi & Saatchi, and Ogilvy & Mather. Here I learned the true meaning of strategy.

Prague, Czech Republic (March 2004 to May 2004)
As an art director intern at MARK BBDO, I had the opportunity to concept and produce work for Becherovka (a traditional Czech liquor), Toyota and Wrigley (Orbit, Winterfresh, HubbaBubba, Airwaves, Ex-cite).

After my internship was over I returned to Miami to refine my portfolio and graduate.
